Sugar free and Vegan Crumble Recipe

This unbelievably yummy sugar12404327_10153806844459407_1353834000_n free and vegan crumble topping was created by my amazing sister for one of our Christmas Day puddings.

2 ½ cups of oats
½ cup of ground almonds
1 cup of flour – spelt, wholemeal, plain – your choice
½ cup of walnuts
½ cup of dates
½ cup of coconut oil
14 cup of maple syrup
34 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla essence

Pop all of the ingredients in a food processor and blitz until it’s gone through the breadcrumb phase and is now getting in to nice lumps again.

Put as much fruit  as you would like on the bottom of your favourite crumble dish – this will depend on whether you are a bottom or top kind of a person.  Then cover with your crumble mix.

Put in the oven for about 20 – 25 minutes at pre-heated 160 ºC fan, 350 ºF or Gas Mark 4.

As with all my cooking, if it smells cooked when the oven door is still shut, it probably is even if the timer doesn’t think so.   Check that it’s slightly golden and crunchy to touch and if so, you can either pop it straight on the dining table or let it cool for another time.
